This is my first day, first post of coming back to blog. And do you know what my first thought was when coming back to WordPress since 2014? Overall, my first look was:
WordPress Doesn’t Look The Same!
A lot of the things I used to know has changed. I once visited a site made by my father who is a Gen X few years back, maybe somewhere 2022 or 2023 and I remember it correctly, cause I tweak and solved the problem!
I’m just glad that the CMS is still the same! Totally need to get used to the new everything I guess. The last time I really delve in with WordPress is 2014, I think at the time Elementor and Divi was still a thing. At the time, people were making websites, but building one is really hard. Drag-and-drop builders were the most helpful plugins of them all!
Apparently, changes has been made drastically from what I’ve read on Getting Started with WordPress 2022: Developer Guide. They changed the way the site editor works, everything (mostly) is block. And what does that mean is basically you can edit everything on the site!
It’s really funny, back then in 2014, I was still student who were just having fun with technology, I have no experience as a Software Developer as I am today right now so coming back to WordPress really is exciting for me.
My Goal is to Write, Share, and Explore
Overall, I will still focus on this. Still deciding on what a niche should I go with, what topic? For who am I writing for?
I decided to pick some simple themes.
And heck, simple themes isn’t even so simple! 🤣
This site is not ready yet at the time of the writing. But I decided I wanted to write and share things one by one. I barely know how the new site editor works. So some links might not work yet! 🤣
Interesting Official Learning Resources
While I’ve been learning about blogging from a course on Udemy, I found out some good resources on their website which you can access from the CMS on the WordPress Logo. If you hover it you can click Documentation, and it basically it leads you to a site where you can learn a lot about WordPress.
I’ve looked a bit into it, and they have quite a nice documentation! Totally worth to look for.
Coming Back as a Software Developer
Coming back as a Software Developer really get my high hopes up. After years of also learning about UI/UX on the sides, and implementing them.
It really is kind of a mockery to stay humble 😭. The fact, that I can’t seem to put all the things that I just learned to the new WordPress 6.5.5. Seems like I put too much hopes and I have to learn again!
And thus, this will be my first post, first mark, on a new journey!
