My first attempt will not be perfect but that’s good. I just want a quick solution before getting back to this again in the future. But here’s my thought.
It’s not sweet, but even the sweetest fruit is sour at its earliest stage.
If that make sense, let’s get started to hear about my first attempt!
Coming Up with a Simple Logo, And Why It Matters To Me
So one thing I noticed that is annoying for me to move my tabs around is logo. While I can imagine the things I wanted, my brain lacks the ability to create an amazing logo. 😝
I was actually thinking of getting things started to writing right away. But the world globe icon annoys me so much. I forgot which tab is which and that’s quite annoying. So I try to get this thing done as quickly as possible. And share it with you guys!
So I try to think about this.
How do I get a good logo for my sites?
I started with a sketch.
I have an idea of just a heptagon and an icon of a pen in the middle.
Well, this is related to my background as a Software Engineer and the most simplest way to show that is by using the < / >
symbol. Now right away, you can see that the slash in the beginning is just basically a stick. I can turn that into a pencil, a pen, or a quill.
Why heptagon? Well, to be honest, I just like the idea of the 7 side that matches with the <
and >
of the earlier symbol anyway.
Nonetheless! I get started right away.
My First Try: Canva
Welp, I was trying to make this here. But apparently, it’s not strong enough for my powerful imagination. Please note, I’m being sarcastic. So anyway, while I don’t have time to sketch this and upload. I try to make it in Canva. Which done quiet a good job now since they have those “Draw” features.

I tried to use the pen ink for the lowest side, how cool and creative is that? 🤣
Yep. Not the best logo you’ve seen.
I tried searching for “heptagon” in the Canva’s Logo Template Pane and found something cool!

I can use the heptagon for what I’m about to create, and thus create my own logo! Steal like an artist they say. Could’ve got it wrong, but I want to spend as much as little time to work on this. However, I’ve met my limit with Canva.
I wanted to be creative with it and create a shape of my own.
I tried to look for a pencil icon that I can use and they have limitation for it. I’m not a pro user. (Yet!) I might’ve used them if I plan to write better too now that I think about it.
The imagery they have is quite too “colourful” or too simple sometimes. Unusable for logo, but good for thumbnail or content. But that’s understandable for a tool designed for a lot of things. I’m also much more inexperienced with Canva, and I might’ve got to use the tool wrong!
But again the idea of my goal to write is that I want to focus on quick execution, and sharing so I get started to write, show up, and share things! I do not want to work so deeply yet.
So that made me end up with my second solution.
My Second Try: Logo Diffusion
Now, for the sake of the story, I bought this a while ago. And I’m glad they are still thriving. While this is probably just a quick overview. I can review it deeper and share with you guys if you want it to happen.
My First Prompt:
At first, my first prompt wasn’t that great. I tried to force my idea of “Heptagon”, I have no picture of the first image2image prompt I’ve tried, but here are the results.

While they have wonderful color in mind which I love very much! It currently doesn’t fit into my current theme which I plan to just get started in writing rather than designing. This can be for future reference I guess when I get back to this. Nonetheless, Logo Diffusion got a good job besides my horrible execution!
My Second Prompt

So I tried to simple things down. I try to ignore the idea of “Heptagon”, I don’t have any idea why would I want to start with that anyway. It was so random. Just a feature of my mind. 🤣
I suddenly have an idea of a lightbulb somehow because of the 2nd image. Since my mind kept firing ideas somehow. Nonetheless, this is a great start! I love it! But I’m unwilling to settle yet. I do love the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th image though!
Trying Variants of What’s Existing
Well, since the designing process is quick, why not try to see variants of it?
I liked the fourth picture of that matches so well with my current theme. Although, it misses the <
and >
. It looks pretty fine! However, it’s still a bit too detailed for an icon.
So I used the fourth image as an inspiration and let the AI work! Finally, I got the following images.

Finally, after few tries, I just decided I should go with the first image above.
The current use case is not right. I can turn the result image above to an SVG, and edit on my own, but for now I’ll just save it until I have time to adjust it again.
For now, I’ll be looking for quick solutions. And if you think this can be done better, it definitely does! I just wanted to focus on other things first before I can go back to here again.
My Third Thought: Stable Diffusion
Probably in the future when I needed to change. Also, I can totally dig deeper about to it, and share the learnings along the way within this web. Generative AIs have improved the way we can express ourselves. The flexibility is beyond amazing. The problem is, I had no idea about art. I can start of course, but it will take a while! But I bet it will be a thrilling journey.
Conclusion
While I was writing this I noticed how Generative AI can be so much helpful in saving time and effort. I actually took more time in writing this and documenting it rather than putting my logo on the site. Who knew putting things in place to put certain perspectives on display could be so hard?
My small conclusion and thoughts as for now for each tool. Please note, this is probably not a good comparison and a professional review! Since the other tools are much more specified for the thing, and the other is much more generic. But I want to share that this is part of my progress, and review of the tools!
Conclusion for Canva:
- A good place to put your sketches in and get started
- Are meant to be simple uses, although have some more complex features. However, this can limit you if you have certain custom demand.
Conclusion for Logo Diffusion:
Pros:
- Really simple to use and get started right away for logo This can be because they are already focused on what they want to be doing best!
- Quicker iteration for logo You can iterate your logo ideas faster! Sketch → Generate, Sketch → Generate.
Cons:
- It’s not free, it’s a paid tool.
- I do wish they save the image we used for generating so I can try variants of it or something else so it’s not repeatable.
And that’s my blogging journey for today!~
